On February 9, the provincial conference on building a first-class innovation ecosystem and the most competitive business environment was held in Hangzhou. At the conference, the 2024 Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Awards were officially presented, covering a total of 305 honored projects. The awards include 298 items across the Natural Science Award, Technological Invention Award, and Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as 7 International Science and Technology Cooperation Awards. Only 8 projects were granted the First Prize of Technological Invention Award.
Jointly researched and developed by our technical team, Zhejiang University of Technology and Zhejiang Esen Chemical Co., Ltd., the project titled Green and High-efficiency Electro-reduction Synthesis Technology and Application of Chloropyridine Compounds has been honored with the First Prize of the 2024 Zhejiang Provincial Technological Invention Award.
Targeting the key generic technologies in the fine chemical industry, this project addresses long-standing industrial bottlenecks of traditional chloropyridine synthesis, including high energy consumption, severe pollution and low production efficiency. The research innovatively proposed and systematically established a novel green electro-reduction synthetic route, achieving multiple breakthroughs in reaction mechanism optimization, process design and industrial engineering application.
With nearly 20 years of sustained research and iteration, the core technologies have been fully upgraded and widely deployed in industrial production. Part of the technical indicators reach the internationally leading level, delivering outstanding technical advancement and high industrial promotion value for the fine chemical sector.
